How to Handle Rejection

Want to know the 3️⃣ keys to changing how you handle rejection?

If you're someone who's afraid of being rejected, it's going to stop you from taking risks like approaching someone in real life or messaging someone online, or even going on a first date.

This fear may also manifest in your professional life as you avoid taking risks and miss out on opportunities due to the possibility of rejection.

To help you reduce your sensitivity to rejection…

The first step is to appreciate that rejection is not that straight forward 😶‍🌫️. People reject us for various reasons, and it may not necessarily reflect our true value as a person. It could be due to their preference, past experiences, or even just being in a bad mood. Don't make rejection about your biggest insecurity; rather, take their thoughts and judgments less seriously.

Secondly, root your value in your character. Doing things every day that contribute to your character, integrity, and the kind of person you want to be can help build your self-esteem. It's not about having the impressive things you want to have, but being proud of yourself for being the person you want to be. When you have pride in yourself, no one can take that away from you.

Lastly, don't put your stock in superficial things that you don't control. While looking good is great, it's not where you should place your value. Focus on being proud of the person you are and the actions you take every day that contribute to your character.

By following these 3 keys, you can change your relationship with rejection and be more confident in yourself. Remember that rejection is not about your true value as a person, and you can be proud of yourself for being the person you want to be.
